Title Page Generator

Fill in your details and see the page take shape: APA 7 student title page, an MLA heading, a Chicago-style layout, a thesis cover with a degree statement, or a plain academic page. Choose paper size, font, size, line spacing and margins, then print or save as a PDF at real size. Empty fields are simply left out, and the tool tells you which details your chosen style expects. These are common conventions, not your institution's required template, so use your own cover if you have one.

APA 7 student title page: bold title a few lines down, then your details, centered and double spaced. Some instructors want other items, such as a running head or page number.

Still needed for this template: Paper title, Author, Institution, Course number and name, Instructor, Due date.

Preview

The preview is scaled to fit your screen; printing uses the real paper size and margins you chose. In the print dialog turn off headers and footers, and choose “Save as PDF” to keep a file.

How it works

  1. Choose a template.
  2. Fill in the fields. Required ones for that style are listed until you complete them.
  3. Adjust paper size, font, size, spacing and margins under Page layout.
  4. Check the preview. A warning appears if the text does not fit one page.
  5. Use Print / Save as PDF, copy the text, or download an .html file.

Options explained

Templates
APA 7 student paper, MLA 9 heading, Chicago / Turabian style, thesis or dissertation cover, and plain academic.
Page layout
US Letter or A4, three fonts, size from 8 to 20 pt, line spacing and margins from 0.25 to 2 inches.
Use today's date
Fills the date in the style's usual format: October 24, 2026, or 24 October 2026 for MLA.

Example

With the APA template, a title, your name, department, institution, course, instructor and due date appear centered and double spaced, with the title in bold a few lines from the top.

Tips for better results

  • Choose the template your course or institution asks for. Required fields change with the template.
  • Use Print and choose Save as PDF for a copy you can attach to a document.
  • Leave optional fields empty. They are omitted from the page rather than left blank.

Limitations

  • These are generic layouts. MLA does not require a separate title page at all, and many universities have their own cover.
  • The preview is scaled to fit your screen. Printing uses real size, so check the print preview.
  • Turn off browser headers and footers in the print dialog for a clean page.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a title page for MLA?

Usually not. MLA uses a heading block at the top of the first page. Use a title page only if your instructor asks.

Will it match my university's template?

Not necessarily. It follows common style conventions. Use your institution's template if it has one.

How do I get a PDF?

Choose Print / Save as PDF and pick Save as PDF as the printer.
